We recommend regular cardiac wellness screening for all pets above 5 years of age! Diagnosis, treatment and recommendations for medical management of congenial / acquired cardiac abnormalities such as valvular disease, dilated cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure including cardiac rhythm abnormalities are implemented! We routinely perform a comprehensive cardiopulmonary physical exam followed by echocardiography, Doppler blood pressure monitoring, electrocardiography and thoracic radiographic evaluation of the heart and the lungs in patients scheduled for surgery as a pre-anaesthetic cardiac risk assessment protocol.
